FAQ

Welcome to the FAQ section, I believe adding this section may give you some answers you might be thinking as to who I am as a photographer. If you have any other questions that aren't listed that you may think of, please contact me and I'll be happy to discuss.

Are you a full time photographer?

No, I work have a full time job working with a software reseller in Southampton.

What is your photography style / "wedding style"?

I love to tell a story and so my wedding style is documentary. This involves getting to know you before the big day / event. Capturing those real moments that count. If you want some posed shots we can run through what is best for you, or if you want some more natural photos these work great.

What is your pricing?

This can vary depending on what you are after. Please feel free to get in touch to arrange a chat or coffee so we can talk it through.

How much do you charge for your booking fee?

I require a 50% booking to reserve your date. This fee is non refundable, this is used to guarantee that this date will held exclusively for you.

When is the final payment due?

The remaining 50% of your balance for your wedding is due one month before the date of the wedding.

How long will you stay for on the wedding day / Event?

Once we discuss your requirements from me, I can give you an idea of how long you'll need me there and will be able to advise of the cost.

Can we have group shots?

Of course, but please bare in mind that large group shots take up a considerable amount of time. I would advise if you want group shots to try keep the groups to a minimum so you can enjoy your reception and guests for longer.

How many photographs will you take?

I hate to put a limit on this, be assured that I won't stop taking photos until I feel I have captured everything.

How many images will we receive?

This can vary, but as above I will leave in as many photos as possible, however I can not present every image I've taken as there will be some duplicates or images with eye's shut etc.

Do all of the photos get edited?

All images that have been provided to you will have been edited in a unique style.

Can I have the RAW images?

I'm afraid not. These images are an unfinished product and contain my copyright information, which in turn supplying these would remove my discretion. Be assured that the images provided to you will in a high resolution format.

Can I print the high resolution images onto a canvas or similar?

Of course you can, but please note some detail maybe lost when printing these onto a large size. I have specialist imagining resizing software which will put the RAW image into the correct dimensions for printing into larger sizes where the details will not be lost. This will be at an extra cost. Please discuss with me the dimensions required to advise of cost.

How long will it take until we receive our images?

As soon as your event is over I get straight to work to get these edited and presented to you in a timely manner. I will not look to rush this process as I strive for excellence. But will keep you updated along the way. Generally for a Wedding this will take about 3-4 weeks.

Who owns the copyright restrictions to the images?

I retain the copyrights to the images to allow me to use them for promotional purposes. You can review a statement on copyright here. However you will be given the copyrights to your images, allowing you to reproduce them and share them on social media with your friends and family as much as you wish. You must seek permission for use beyond reproduction and printing for friends, guests and family.

What information do you hold on me?

Please review my privacy policy here.

Do we need to feed you at the reception / event?

Please don't feel compelled to unless it is an all day Wedding / event. I will look to bring something light with me to keep me going so I can focus on the photography.

What gear do you use?

I use professional DSLR cameras which are 2 Canon 5D Mark III’s with a series of professional Canon L lenses, including 24-70mm F4 IS, 70-200mm F2.8 L IS. Please take a look at My Gear page for further information.

Do you do Engagement shoots / Couple shoots?

Yes, I find this is a great opportunity to get to know a couple before the big day or just to have some amazing photos with the one you love. Please get in touch for a quote.

Do you photograph Weddings abroad?

Absolutely, I love traveling and the opportunity to capture a destination wedding. My first wedding abroad was in the amazing city of Cape Town. So I always love the thought of traveling to a new or previously visited location.

What happens if you are ill on the day?

I'll do my very best to be there, however if it is a more serious reason I can't be there I will make every effort to arrange another photographer to step in.

Are travel costs included?

Yes, travel is included within a 50mile radius of Southampton. I 'm more than happy to do Weddings / events further afield and destination Weddings, however travel expenses will need to be discussed prior to booking.

Will you back up our photos?

All photos are backed up on multiple drives to insure that these aren't lost and are password encrypted to keep them secure.
